Implement Weekly Mental Health Check-ins in Schools

The Issue

As a student, I am deeply concerned about the mental health of my peers. It is an alarming fact that 1 out of every 5 students struggle with mental health issues, which can lead to severe consequences such as suicide. This understanding have led me to believe that schools need to take more responsibility for their students' mental well-being.

We propose that schools should begin implementing weekly forms for mental health check-ins. These forms would allow students to express their feelings and struggles confidentially, providing a much-needed outlet for those who may not feel comfortable discussing these issues openly.

Additionally, we suggest the incorporation of daily reminders in morning announcements and on bulletin boards throughout the school, reinforcing the message that all students are loved and valued. These reminders would also encourage struggling individuals to reach out to trusted adults within the school community.

The implementation of these measures could significantly improve awareness about student's mental health within our educational institutions. We believe this will foster a supportive environment where everyone feels safe expressing their feelings without fear or judgment.

Please sign this petition if you agree that our schools need more comprehensive measures in place for monitoring and supporting student's mental health.
