The Issue

I am a resident of 12th Avenue, and I'm deeply concerned for the safety of my family and neighbors in our community due to the dangerous driving conditions on this road. It’s disheartening to see our children, elderly, and families constantly at risk due to reckless speeding from early morning to  late-night racing.

Our community is still reeling from a recent, tragic motorcycle accident on 5/19/2026  that occurred right outside our homes. It wasn’t an isolated event but a part of an ongoing problem that endangers all of us living here. This tragedy is a stark reminder of what we face every day as speeding motorcycles and cars pass by, often oblivious to the fact that they are in a residential neighborhood.

This isn’t just about one accident; it’s about the everyday reality for the residents of 12th Avenue. We experience repeated near-misses and live with the anxiety that today might be the day our luck runs out.

We need immediate action to address this escalating danger. Traffic calming measures, such as speed bumps, clearer signage on the blind hills we have on this road and increased police presence could drastically reduce speeding incidents on 12th Avenue.

I'm reaching out to our local municipal leaders, traffic safety department, and law enforcement agencies to prioritize the safety of our community by implementing these vital measures. This is NOT the road to use for emergency vehicles to travel down.  We have blind hills on this road, it's dangerous.

Please lend your support by signing this petition to demand much-needed changes to make 12th Avenue safer for everyone. Together, we can help protect our families and prevent further tragedies. Sign now to make a difference.
