Our community, the residents of Vernon Lumby constituency, is persistently disturbed by the growing number of serious motor incidents taking place at the intersection of Hwy 6 and Pottery Road. Our personal concern has elevated to the point of fear, as our daily scan through social media is littered with disturbing reports of accidents in this area. It has become evident that immediate measures need to be taken to curb these alarming occurrences. Therefore, we implore MLA Harwinder Sandhu to request the Ministry of Transportation and Transit to install a traffic light at Hwy 6 and Pottery Road without further delay. This must also include sidewalks and crosswalks for pedestrians and other active transportation users. The consequences of this neglect have proven to be too grave, as apparent in the numerous accidents that this intersection has witnessed. Reducing the risk of motor accidents is a crucial step in enhancing road safety, therefore this installation will indubitably save lives.
