Our family has suffered immense heartbreak due to the dangerous speeds at which vehicles travel on Penilee Road in Glasgow. We have lost two beloved family pets and had another seriously injured on this residential strip of road before you go over the hill towards Ralston. The most recent incident occurred on Saturday, 28/10/2023. Beyond our personal losses, we know of hundreds of other pets that have been killed or injured here. There have also been near misses with children due to reckless speeding.

This is not just a personal issue; it's a community concern that requires immediate attention. The painted 'slow' signs along this stretch are routinely ignored by drivers, leading to danger for both pedestrians and animals alike.

We propose two potential solutions: reducing the speed limit to 30mph throughout or installing speed bumps as effective traffic calming measures. According to the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), these measures can significantly reduce accidents - by up to 60% in some cases.
