The issue

I've often found myself at the receiving end of an unnecessary bag when ordering a single item from fast food chains. As simple as this act may seem, it places an unnecessary burden on our precious, finite resources. Whether it's in the creation, recycling, or disposal of these bags, the environmental impact continues to grow. From McDonald's to KFC, Wendy’s to Burger King, and BurgerFuel, this practice is overwhelmingly common.

A report by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reveals that over 380 billion bags are used in the United States alone, every year. The need for a change in policy is urgent. Hence, I propose the "One Needs None" policy. Under this policy, fast-food outlets will not provide a bag for single-item orders unless explicitly requested by the customer.

This simple change can significantly reduce the demand for bags, contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions and slowing down the drain on the world's finite resources. It's a small step in our daily lives that can amount to a significant impact where it matters most - our environment.

In the spirit of sustainability, let's express our support for the "One Needs None" policy. This is our chance to enact change and begin a global journey towards a more sustainable future. Therefore, I urge you to sign this petition and spread the word about this initiative.
