The Issue

Every day, the residents of North East, Bengaluru, confront crippling traffic congestion around Mukunda Theater due to the absence of a much-needed Rotary Flyover over the IOC Depot. This issue isn't just a minor inconvenience; it's a persistent problem that has plagued our community for over a decade. Our families experience this challenge daily, worsening pollution and extending commutes, which cuts into our professional efficiency, time spent with families, and overall well-being.

This scenario is not just an individual concern but a collective cry for help. Now over 100 local Groups, NGOs, Residents' Welfare Associations (RWAs) have united, showcasing the unanimous demand—"implement the rotary flyover now!" This appeal is not new; it's a solution that has been on the drawing board for far too long, caught up in bureaucratic red tape and endless discussions without action.

Traffic congestion significantly affects not only the local residents but also the economic vitality of Banaswadi and its surrounding areas in a 5 sq km radius, at least. According to studies, Bengaluru's traffic woes are infamous, with the city ranked among the top 10 worst in the world for congestion, costing the city billions in lost productivity every year. By addressing this specific choke point with a Rotary Flyover, we could alleviate one of the largest contributors to our neighborhood's congestion, impacting lakhs of daily commuters using the existing flyover.

We are urging the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and the Local MLA of Sarvagnanagar Assembly Constituency to prioritize this project. An actionable course is set—deliver the long-promised flyover above the IOC Depot to ease the daily commutes and improve the quality of life for thousands in our community.

UPDATE: In our last meeting with the Hon'ble MLA held on 21st Feb. 2026, to our written representation, we have received a positive response and GoK level approvals we are told are being expedited.

Immediate action is crucial. Supporting this petition means supporting a future where businesses thrive and families find peace in knowing their city cares about their well-being. Join us in pressing for tangible change. Sign this petition to help make the Rotary Flyover at the IOC Depot a reality and transform North East Bengaluru into a more liveable and accessible community for everyone.
