At the heart of democracy is the principle of representation. It is important for those in power to be aware of the realities of the people they serve. However, the perpetual terms of some members of the U.S. Congress have distanced them from the realities affecting average citizens. They have allegedly amassed wealth through globalist lobbying and insider trading. This has turned a public service position into a lucrative career, which contradicts the foundational principles of this great nation.

We believe that imposing term limits would bring in much-needed fresh perspectives, curb undue influence of lobbyists, and keep the focus on serving the people rather than personal gain. A 2018 report by the Brookings Institution found that without term limits, the average tenure of U.S. Congress members is steadily increasing. This leads to a hierarchy based more on tenure and less on merit, and undermines the democratic process. Term limits are to be set a 2 terms like the presidency. 

Let's curtail the oligarchic tendencies in our governance structure by implementing term limits for both Houses of the U.S. Congress. This would encourage a more dynamic representation tailored to the pulse of the citizenry, not the heartbeat of career politicians. So, let's steer the ship of state back towards a genuinely representative democracy.
