We are looking for 500 signatures for a special groups substance abuse awareness license plate for Indiana

In 2020, I suffered an unimaginable loss when my daughter passed away due to fentanyl poisoning. Through this tragedy, I have been compelled to focus on raising awareness and educating others about opioid overdose and poisoning through my not-for-profit organization. I believe that acknowledging this crisis publicly and continuously is crucial to saving lives and preventing future tragedies.

Substance abuse and overdose have become a significant epidemic in our communities, affecting countless families and individuals. According to the Indiana State Department of Health, drug overdoses have been on the rise with opioids being the leading cause. The CDC highlights that Indiana has one of the higher rates of overdose deaths in the country. It is time to take an actionable step towards prevention.

I propose the implementation of a new Indiana Special Groups license plate dedicated to substance abuse and overdose prevention. This plate would serve not only as a memorial for those we have lost but as a powerful tool to spread awareness across the state. Whenever a vehicle sporting this plate is seen on the roads, it would remind individuals of the ongoing battle against substance abuse and the importance of prevention and education.
