The Issue

As a compassionate citizen, I feel compelled to address an issue that is close to my heart: the safety and well-being of stray dogs in Delhi. It's a matter that reflects our humanity. Stray dogs are innocent creatures that deserve to live with dignity and protection.

Currently, there is an alarming trend of cruelty and negligence towards these animals in our city. With thousands of stray dogs roaming around, their survival becomes a daunting challenge. According to the most recent census conducted by Humane Society International, Delhi is home to approximately 400,000 stray dogs. Alongside starvation, these dogs face physical abuse that frequently leads to their untimely death.

It's time for the Delhi government to spring into action. Immediate measures are crucial to ensure a safe and habitable environment within each community for these dogs. We need stronger animal protection laws, efficient spaying and neutering programs to control their population, and dedicated feeding and sheltering initiatives.

Recognizing the values that make us human involves acknowledging the rights of all sentient beings. Delaying action allows for the continuance of a tragic cycle of needless suffering and preventable deaths. It will reflect poorly on us, the citizens of Delhi, if we turn a blind eye to this pressing issue.

Let's collectively raise our voices to protect the stray dogs of Delhi. Sign this petition to urge the Delhi government to implement stringent measures immediately for the welfare and protection of these innocent lives. Your support can make a significant difference.
