Six years ago, a speeder struck my dog on 60th Ave W, unable to stop in time. This tragic event spurred my commitment to advocating for local "traffic calming devices." However, the measures installed at two locations have proven ineffective. Driven by this painful memory, I am calling for more effective actions to reduce speeding on this avenue.

Lynnwood has experienced substantial growth in recent years, making traffic management and pedestrian safety more critical than ever. Despite this growth, 60th Ave W remains a two-lane road with no sidewalks, posing significant risks to pedestrians and drivers alike.

Speeding is a significant national issue, with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reporting over 9,000 speed-related fatalities in 2018. It's essential to prevent such tragedies in our community. Therefore, we urge the implementation of stricter speed control measures on 60th Ave W, such as:
