In the Philippines, the Animal Welfare Act of 1998 (Republic Act No. 8485) exists to protect animals from harm and cruelty. However, enforcement remains weak due to lack of awareness and resources. According to data from the Philippine Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA), hundreds of cases are reported each year with many more going unnoticed or unreported.

We need stricter enforcement in Cabuyao, Laguna to ensure that those who commit such heinous acts are held accountable for their actions. We must send a clear message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in our community.
