Implement Strict Regulations and Oversight in Homeless Shelters to Protect theVulnerable

The Issue

Gift Of A Helping Hand Charitable TR was formed on January 10, 2002. The beginning of our mission was to provide a safe and healthy haven for homeless peoples, domestic violence survivors and abused children of domestic violence parents no matter their race or ethnic background just wanted to make a difference. Now that years have passed and being a victim of being a targeted individuals in homeless shelters my mission have shifted a little bit. And what saddens me that homeless shelters across the global are responsible for gang violence, drug dealing, physically rape of women and children, virtual rape, digital rape, cyber stalking, drug overdose and murders are actually taking place in these shelters and are being committed by the staff member and the outsiders the staff members are bringing in to commit these horrific crimes.

My sister Michelle was once a victim of stalking within the very walls of a homeless shelter, a place that was supposed to offer her safety. This personal experience has opened my eyes to the horrific crimes being committed within these shelters by staff members and outsiders they bring in. My sister Nichelle Denise Prather and her daughter Ya-Roni Monique Prather was targeted individuals and victims of human trafficking and not only were they victim of human trafficking my sister Nichelle Denise Prather government company was stolen from her named NPRA Technologies. My sister Nichelle Denise Prather suffered for years by the abuse of electronic devices torment. My sister Barbara Sue Prather was also a targeted individual and had her million dollars lawsuit stolen from her and she was abused at the hands of drug dealer and gang bangers because she was on drugs, but her sister Cathy Prather Russell tried to help her locate her stolen money that was in the hands of her attorney and Comerica bank.  Our mission began with providing a safe haven for homeless individuals, domestic violence survivors, and children affected by domestic violence - irrespective of their race or ethnic background. However, witnessing such atrocities has shifted our focus.

Homeless shelters are meant to be sanctuaries for those who have nowhere else to go. Yet according to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC), 1 in 3 women experiencing homelessness report having experienced physical or sexual violence within the past year alone. This is not just an isolated problem; it's an epidemic that needs immediate attention.

The time has come for stricter regulations and oversight in homeless shelters across our nation. We need mandatory training programs for staff members on handling sensitive situations and protecting residents from harm. We also need regular audits by independent bodies to ensure these standards are upheld.

We cannot stand idle while vulnerable individuals suffer under the very roof meant to protect them from harm's way. Let us unite against this injustice and demand change now! Sign this petition today!
