I am a resident of  Greece and I am deeply concerned about the amount of litter in our cities and our country. Every day, I see trash strewn around the streets, near bins, and in our beautiful parks. It's disheartening to witness such disregard for our environment.

This is not just an aesthetic issue; it's a matter of respect for our home, the Earth.

I have had the opportunity to visit Switzerland where cleanliness is highly valued and maintained. The stark contrast between their pristine environment and ours is alarming. We should strive to emulate such standards.

Littering not only tarnishes the beauty of our city but also poses serious environmental hazards. According to Keep Greece Beautiful organization, over 10 million tons of litter end up on Greek shores every year (Keep Greece Beautiful). This has severe implications for marine life as well as human health.

It's time we take this issue personally! Let us advocate for stricter penalties against those who litter in Greece - hefty fines that will deter people from disrespecting their surroundings.
