According to the Michigan State Police, incidents of animal abuse have been increasing, with many perpetrators merely receiving a slap on the wrist. It is clear that stronger, more definitive action needs to be taken to protect our animal friends from such cruelty.

The Humane Society of the United States reports that animals in abusive situations may be forced to suffer neglect, starvation, abandonment, or physical harm. Yet, the punishments meted out to abusers seldom reflect the severity of their actions. This lack of adequate deterrence only serves to perpetuate the cycle of abuse, leaving countless animals vulnerable and exposed.

We propose a three-pronged approach to rectify this issue:
