Petition to Implement STEAM Standards in Colorado K-8 Education

We propose that the Colorado state government and Board of Education adopt specific learning goals for STEAM subjects, ensuring consistency and quality in education across all schools. Just as Physical Education, Music, and Art have protected statuses and dedicated funding, STEAM subjects deserve the same recognition. By establishing STEAM standards, we prioritize the importance of these subjects and ensure they are properly resourced.

Currently, these subjects can be overlooked, leaving students unprepared for future opportunities. We pride ourselves on being a progressive state for technologies, yet we are failing to equip our children with the necessary tools for success in a technology-driven world.
