I am a resident of this community. Every day, I bear witness to the risks that motor vehicles pose to our seemingly peaceful neighborhood. Cars whizz past, blatantly exceeding the designated 25 mph speed limit, whilst stop signs at our four-way intersections are carelessly ignored. Our surroundings are filled with innocent children playing, dedicated joggers, devoted pet owners walking their dogs, all at constant, needless risk.

It has been proven that speed bumps and strict enforcement of traffic regulations significantly reduce the chance of accidents occurring. According to research by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, traffic calming measures like speed bumps can decrease the risk of fatal accidents by as much as 40-60%.

Being proactive is better than reactive. I urge our local government and traffic authorities to take immediate action — we want speed bumps installed in key areas throughout our neighborhood, and a strict enforcement of traffic laws, particularly at our four-way stops. Our community's safety is at stake — it's time we prioritize it.
