My daughter was nearly hit while getting on the school bus by a speeding driver who ignored the bus’s stop sign and blinking lights. This is a risk that our neighborhood residents and children face every day due to reckless drivers. Additionally, the Diamond Hill neighborhood lacks sidewalks making the streets the only option for walkers who are regularly on our streets.

The obvious need is a feasible solution such as installing speed bumps, rumble strips, or other speed reducing measures on our street to reduce excessive speeding.

Being a residential area with a substantial number of children, our neighborhood is ideal for such a solution. This isn't just about us, this is about each and every family in our community. Our streets should be a safe place for our children and us. Improving the safety of Diamond Hill by implementing speed reducing measures such as speed bumps at sporadic points of Slope Drive will greatly increase peace of mind for all residents and improves the overall quality of life.
