Lower Glenrosa Road in West Kelowna has been a source of anxiety and danger for my family and our community. Living in a family-oriented neighborhood, there have been countless moments when we held our breath watching cars zoom down our streets, barely missing children playing or heading home from school. The close calls are too many to count, and the scary reality recently became all too real with a devastating accident. It's only a matter of time until a more tragic incident occurs if nothing is done to curb the speeding on this road.

This is a plea not just from me but from an entire community of families who desperately want to feel safe in their own neighborhood. The problem is clear: excessive speeding along Lower Glenrosa Road poses a serious threat to residents, especially the young, the elderly, and the countless pedestrians who use this street daily. The solution is equally clear: the installation of speed humps, a proven method to slow down reckless drivers.

Speed humps have been successfully used worldwide to effectively decrease vehicular speeds, increase driver awareness, and create safer ecosystems for communities. According to the Federal Highway Administration, roads with speed humps see a significant reduction in accidents and speeding cases.
