On Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 around 5:45pm, my cherished pet dog was tragically hit by a speeding car on Prairie Drive in North Babylon, New York. The driver did not stop. Luckily, with the help of a great Veterinarian, she was tended to immediately and ultimately is okay. This could’ve been your family member, friend, child or even pet. This traumatic event highlights the necessity for traffic regulation on this stretch of road.

Prairie Drive has become a frequent route for speeding vehicles, creating a dangerous environment for drivers, pedestrians and pets. The addition of a speed camera, which captures the details of vehicles going over the speed limit of 30 MPH, can make a significant difference.
