Our story begins in late 2023, when we moved to Luther Road. A decision that we count as one of the best we've ever made. We entered a wonderful, tranquil neighborhood keen on enjoying every joy of family life. As the months passed, however, a fear developed. Our road has become a speedway; cars rushing through without care for safety.

Our fear is personal. We became parents to a bright 10-month-old, who will soon be walking hand in hand with us down these roads. Each speeding car is a hazard to our child and the many other families living in our neighborhood. Not to mention the schoolchildren from Ellendale Elementary, a school connected to Luther Road, who walk home every day. This speeding – this risk – is a daily occurrence we hope to change.

Speed bumps have been proven to reduce vehicle speeds by an average of 25-45% in the UK, making the roads safer for pedestrians (Source: UK Department for Transport). It is our belief that implementing speed bumps on Luther Road would significantly decrease the speed at which cars travel, thereby improving the safety for our child, our neighbors, and the young students of Ellendale Elementary.
