Too many children still fall victim to the horrifying menace of child molestation, often at the hands of repeat offenders - a tragedy that is entirely preventable. As citizens of this nation, it is our belief that the Government should ensure the utmost protection to its most vulnerable individuals, especially children. Tragically, the fact of the matter is “slap on the wrist” style punishment for offenders leads to repeat behavior, leading to more child victims. As stated by the Office of Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehension, Registering and Tracking (SMART), registered molesters have an unsettling 15% recidivism rate over a 24 year span. This translates to approximately 83,834 children, based on figures from the National Children’s Alliance. 

This deeply disturbing reality mandates the need for critical reform in our judicial system. We strongly propose that stringent measures should be implemented, involving capital punishment or chemical castration for convicted child molesters. This drastic measure is justified not only by the catastrophic impact on the victims but by the necessary deterrent it can provide against such horrifying crimes. By passing such legislation, we can better safeguard our children and ensure peace of mind for parents and guardians nationwide.
