Southwestern Wilds, Inc is a 501c3 non-profit organization in Pahrump, Nevada dedicated to the protection of our wild horses and burros.  There have been many accidents on Highway 160 due to vehicles hitting horses and burros along a stretch of the highway between Blosser Ranch Road and the Johnnie Curve.  In all instances vehicles have been damaged and the horses and burros have died.   The lack of fencing and no lighting, allows these animals to wander onto the highway, thus leading to tragic accidents that could have been prevented with proper safety measures in place.  

We propose the installation of solar powered, flashing danger signs, or at very least, large reflective signs, along this part of the highway, to warn drivers that horses and burros may be crossing the highway. 

We urge you to take action now, before human lives are lost and more animals die along this portion of the main highway through Pahrump.
