Our local Prairie Oak elementary school is situated directly across the street from my family home. Located on 1427 Oak Park Ave in Berwyn IL. Each day, my teenage siblings bravely navigate crossing this busy road to reach their place of education. However, recent incidents of reckless driving pose undeniable threats to the safety of not just my kin, but also all others who traverse this area.

We urgently need our city officials to implement immediate safety measures. By installing cameras and speed bumps near our schools, we can discourage reckless driving and protect countless lives. Cameras are vital as they would monitor speed levels and capture the vehicle identities of offenders, subsequently promoting accountable driving behaviors. Similarly, speed bumps would hinder drivers from surpassing speed limits, potentially reducing the likelihood of accidents.

For the safety of our children, siblings, friends, and every pedestrian who walks by our schools, it is time to act. Please, sign this petition urging the local administration to install safety measures near schools.
