The intersection of Lewie Road and Cedar Grove Road is a hotspot for automobile accidents, endangering the lives of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. This location has consistently seen a higher number of accidents. The of lack of appropriate traffic control measures contribute significantly to these mishaps. Implementing new safety measures such as potential four-way stop , flashing light or even a traffic signal, will greatly reduce the frequency of these accidents. We urge our local authorities to conduct a thorough investigation of the safety concerns at this intersection and take the necessary steps to prevent further incidents. Currently, I personally have requested a report of accidents from the past five years and currently SCDOT has stated that they are sending over a draft to the district office for this request. My neighbor, along with myself have been back-and-forth with the county and DOT on this issue in hopes that something will be done before it’s too late.
