The Issue

My family & I like many have moved to Escondido for its charm and character. Since moving four years ago we have whitenesses several accidents adjacent to our property about a thousand feet from Juniper elementary school. One accident of late caused a vehicle to crash into our neighbors house through the wall where a disabled people live. Another involving a motorcyclist & several others.

The common thread in most of these accidents is speeding north & south on S. Juniper Street, coupled with the one-way stops on Eldorado and Vermont.

As citizens, we affirm the right to safety for every single resident and the necessity for urgent action to prevent a recurrence of such tragically avoidable incidents in the future. There is an immediate need for improved traffic measures—a thorough consideration for a holistic traffic calming solution and a stricter enforcement of the speed limit—to ensure the safety of everyone, especially the children attending the nearby school.

By signing this petition, we are voicing our belief in the power of community to bring about change, beginning at our very doorstep. This is not simply a matter of traffic policy; this is about our lives, our children's lives, and the integrity of the peaceful neighborhood we call home. Please add your voice to our call for safer streets today by signing this petition.
