Oakura speed limit update

hH everyone, just wanted to update you and let you know that I met with the Taranaki regional council today. There was a representative there from New Zealand transport authority as well. At this point, the guidance I have been given is that this is a legislative issue. There has been a lot of support from the Kaitake community board as well as a Taranaki regional council. By getting the petition signed by as many people it will help encourage our local MP David McLeod to pursue this issue legislatively. If you happen to know him or anybody that does it would be good to put in a strong word in favor of our cause.  

I contacted his office again todayand I’ve tried to get another meeting scheduled with him to update him on our support and importance of this cause.  Please if you know anyone that would be interested in signing it we need to get as much support as possible. Right now we are sitting around 246 signatures and we would like to get at least 1000 before my next meeting with him. I think it’s a very obtainable goal given the population of Oakura and the amount of people that use Corbett Park on a weekly basis    Thanks again for all your help. Hopefully we can get this thing through the finish line soon!
