The Issue

I, like many others, experience extreme difficulty while driving at night due to the blinding brightness of headlights from oncoming cars. This worry is not mine alone - everywhere I turn, I hear the same concerns voiced by fellow drivers. Too many of us fear that this could lead to an unwanted, preventable accident.

This concern resonates with alarming statistics. According to the National Safety Council, the risk of a fatal accident is three times greater at night. In a study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, about two out of every three drivers reported being blinded by oncoming headlights. This is a significant issue that needs immediate attention.

Car manufacturers have the capability to adjust headlight brightness, and some countries, like Denmark and Canada, have standardized headlight brightness, helping protect their citizens from blinding lights while driving. Why should we not follow suit? We need to take action and impose restrictions and measures to ensure that headlight brightness is regulated for the safety of all drivers.

We implore the motor industry to take this issue seriously and impliment measures to minimize headlight brightness effectively, making our roads safer for everyone to use, day or night. Please sign this petition to help make our roads a safer place for everyone.
