Access to clean drinking water is a basic human right, yet many students in California's K-12 schools are not guaranteed this need. It has been found that 1 in 4 California schools have water contamination issues, which can lead to serious health problems among children (source: Community Water Center).

This petition calls for the mandatory regular cleaning and installation of filters in all K-12 school water fountains across the state. By doing so, we can ensure our children have access to safe drinking water during their crucial developmental years.

All humans rely on water, and kids especially. A kid needs about 5-8 cups of water a day to functions, but if the water is contaminated and unhygienic, it destroys the point. 77% of parents as of 2023 in the U.S are concerned about the contamintation of water in water fountains, but kids rely on that water if they forgot their bottle or don't have one.
