Implement Rainey's Law to Penalize Medical Negligence in Tennessee

Implement Rainey's Law to Penalize Medical Negligence in Tennessee
The Issue
This petition starts with a tragic and personal story, one that has broken many hearts in Tennessee. The tale of Rainey Jo McCord is a horrifying example of negligence leading to a loss that could have been avoided. Rainey lost her life due to the negligence of the people she was surrounded by.
Instead of calling emergency services when she lost consciousness, they drug her through the leaves and mud, into her car, and then to a convenience store where she was finally met with paramedics.
A situation where immediate medical attention could have saved her life turned into a tragic ending due to a delay in receiving help.
Unfortunately, Tennessee does not currently have a law that addresses this kind of negligence. The shocking truth is that it isn't legally wrong for someone to ignore a person in need of emergency medical help. This needs to change.
This petition seeks justice for Rainey Jo McCord and aims to prevent future neglect by advocating for a new law aptly named "Rainey's Law". Rainey's Law would make it illegal to disregard someone who needs immediate medical assistance. This law, if implemented, could potentially save countless innocent lives.
Rainey's story was highlighted on Tennessee Missing and Unsolved, and it has ever since mobilized individuals like me, who feel compelled to fight for justice. It's time we take a stand against such inhuman negligence. By signing this petition, you add your voice to the demand for a safer, more accountable Tennessee.
Let's make sure no one else in our great state if Tennessee, ever has to suffer like Rainey did again. Let's take a stand and push for Rainey's Law. So please join me in signing and sharing this petition with your friends and family to help us make Tennessee a safer place for everyone.
**Also, we want to thank those of you who have donated to this cause and petition. But I do want to point out that this money doesn't go to her family in any capacity and it is used for the promotion of this petition. If you feel compelled to donate that's fine but it's not a requirement to sign it! Thanks for your continued support
