As a resident living on these streets for over a decade, I have encountered progressively worsening issues regarding parking. Over these years, our peaceful neighborhood streets, including Acres Hall Avenue, have been insidiously evolving into chaotic parking zones. What used to be serene streets lining our homes are now overridden by vehicles.

The current situation is being exacerbated by the newly announced sixth form. This addition will inevitably add to the existing parking woes as more people will be visiting the area. Moreover, it's not just the residents and students clashing for spaces. The construction company Caddick has been monopolizing the streets with their vehicles, creating significant restrictions and constraints for us residents.

Parking has always been an integral part of our daily lives, but it has recently morphed from a presumed right into a daily struggle. This is especially difficult for many of us, including myself, who don't own a driveway.

We believe that a parking permit program would alleviate this undue burden on the residents. Such a system is not unprecedented; many cities and towns across the world have successfully introduced it to manage the demand for limited on-street parking. We demand the local City Council to seriously consider our plea.
