I'm speaking as a mother, like many others, who experiences fear and apprehension at the thought of leaving her children behind while pursuing a career. For parents like us, balancing career prospects with the safety and security of our children is a constant battle. While remote work options do exist, they are limited and sometimes restrictive. A possible solution to this problem would be mandating workplaces to have designated childcare centres. This would of course be paid for by the parents, you register your child(ren) with the on-site childcare centre and the relevant number of vetted childminders are there and stay on-site. 

The availability of on-site childcare centres at workplaces has the potential to benefit untold parents, like me, who feel torn between their career obligations and their children’s needs.

On-site childcare centres can be as simple as repurposing an unused meeting room into a playroom. This not only eases the burden on parents but also provides children with a safe, stimulating environment during their parents’ working hours. This is something that people who are yet to have children give any thought to but take it from me, if you do decide to have a family it’s something that’s going to be very important to you.
