GOOD NEWS IS THAT THEY HAVE ADDED SEVERAL NOISE BARRIERS INCLUDING ONE ALONGSIDE PART OF SAVANNAH.
PEOPLE LIVING ALONGSIDE THE NOISE BARRIER WALL WILL BE VOTING ON APPROVING THE NOISE BARRIER WALL AT SOME POINT
I WILL BE ATTENDING THE WORKSHOP AND WILL BE POSTING PICTURES AFTERWARDS FEEL FREE TO ATTEND IF YOU CAN.

� NOTICE OF TXDOT NOISE WORKSHOP MEETING (FM 1385 EXPANSION) - JANUARY 18TH, 2024 �
There is an upcoming TxDOT workshop meeting taking place this Thursday, January 18th, 2024. It looks like notices have only been mailed to residents who back up against FM1385 so I've only learned of it from another resident. Sharing the information here as well since this affects all of our neighborhoods and and in case anyone wants to attend the meeting.
According to the notice:
"The Texas Department of Transportation ("TxDOT") is proposing to reconstruct and widen Farm-to-Market Road (FM) 1385 from U.S. Highway (US) 380 to FM 455 in Denton County, Texas from a 2-lane undivided rural roadway to a 4/6-lane divided urban roadway. TxDOT conducted a traffic noise analysis as part of the environmental process for the project. As a result of this analysis, TxDOT is proposing to construct several noise barriers (also referred to as noise walls):
• Noise Wall 1, located at Mezzo Apartments would be 14 ft high by 432 ft long.
• Noise Wall 2, located at Glenbooke Neighborhood would be 8 ft high by 2,627 ft long.
• Noise Wall 3, located at Arrowbrooke Neighborhood would be 8 ft high by 2,265 ft long.
• Noise Wall 4, located at Sand Brock Ranch Neighborhood would be 10 ft high by 663 ft long.
• Noise Wall 5, located at Savannah Neighborhood would be 8 ft high y 1,890 ft long.
• Noise Wall 6, located at Dove Creek Circle would be 10 ft high by 550 ft long.
• Noise Wall 7, located at The Preserve at Doe Creek would be 12 ft high by 791 ft long.
In accordance within TxDOT's Traffic Noise Policy, a proposed noise barrier cannot be constructed without the approval of the owners and residents of property bordering and/or benefiting from the proposed barrier. The opportunity to vote for or against the proposed noise barrier is limited to bordering and benefiting property owners and residents because they would be most affected by the noise associated with roadway traffic and affected by the presence and appearance of the noice barrier.
A noise workshop meeting will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Navo Middle School, 1701 Navo Rd, Aubrey, TX 76227.
The purpose of the noise workshop is to provide owners and residents with sufficient information to make an informed decision (vote) for or against the proposed noise barrier..." (Picture of notice cut off from there.)
