Implement No-Kill Policies in All Animal Shelters and Revise Veterinary Practices in Aus

The issue

I am a passionate animal lover, deeply disturbed by the current state of our animal shelters and veterinary practices. Animals don't ask to be here; we, as people, have created the high numbers of dogs, cats, horses etc. as pets. Therefore it is our responsibility to fight for their voice to be heard and advocate for their legal rights.

In Sydney NSW alone, thousands of healthy or treatable animals are euthanised every year due to overcrowding in shelters or because they are deemed 'unadoptable'. This is not only morally wrong but also unnecessary. It's illegal in our country to do this to humans; why should animals be so different?

We need legislation change that stops veterinary practices and shelters from euthanising animals that are not terminally ill or dangerous. Adoptable animals should not be put down simply because there's no room at the shelter or due to cost considerations.

We propose a law stating that an animal cannot legally be euthanised unless there is no means possible for rehabilitation back into health or if it poses a danger to society.

By adopting no-kill policies at all animal shelters and revising our veterinary practices, we can save countless lives while promoting more humane treatment of these innocent creatures who depend on us for care.

Please join me in urging lawmakers in Australia to implement these changes immediately - because every life matters! Sign this petition today!
