There are many stories where lives have been shattered due to false rape accusations, untested through forensics. One such story is of my own brother, falsely sentenced despite the absence of any incriminating physical evidence. The victim's rape kit found no sign of penetration nor semen from my brother, but instead, another male's DNA was discovered.

False accusations of rape not only harm the lives of innocent people but also undermine the severity of genuine cases. Everyone accused should be entitled to a comprehensive forensic evaluation of their case to ensure a fair trial. A study by the International Association of Chiefs of Police revealed that up to 7% of rape accusations are false (Kanin, Eugene J., 1994).

We believe that the individuals guilty of false rape accusations should face penalties proportional to the substantial harm caused. And thus, propose a mandatory minimum 7-year prison sentence for those found guilty of making false accusations. This measure aims to deter malicious or erroneous claims and uphold the integrity of the justice system.
