Implement Mandatory Microchipping for All Dogs in California City, California

Implement Mandatory Microchipping for All Dogs in California City, California

The Issue

CALIFORNIA CITY, CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY PETITION

Our community faces an escalating issue: the problem of stray animals, particularly dogs. The numbers keep rising and this has led to public safety, healthcare, and welfare concerns. By requiring all dogs to be microchipped in California City, we can help address this significant issue.

Microchipping is not only virtually painless, but it also provides a permanent means of identification for pets, unlike collars or tags that might get lost. As per The American Veterinary Medical Association, missing pets with microchips are more likely to be reunited with their owners. They reported that dogs with microchips are returned 2.5 times more often than dogs without.

Furthermore, cities like Moreno Valley, CA and other municipalities in California and other states have made dog microchipping mandatory -- a step forward in reducing their stray dog populations successfully.

By requiring all dogs in our community to be microchipped, we can ensure accountability from pet owners, increase chances of strays being returned to their rightful homes, and take a big stride towards solving our local stray animal problem.

Stand with us in making our community safer for people and animals alike and sign this petition today. Our goal should always be responsible pet ownership, as it is a cornerstone of civic duty. This petition will be provided to the city council, seeking that they implement this.
