This lack of regulation is unacceptable and poses significant risks to our pets' well-being. It's time we demand more from these services. We must insist on thorough checks including house inspections, police background checks, and mandatory registration for all individuals offering their homes as boarding places for dogs.

Currently in the United Kingdom alone, there are approximately 12 million dogs as pets, with 31% of households owning a dog. These families entrust their pets to sitters or boarders through platforms like Rover without knowing if these caregivers have been properly vetted.
