Implement Mandatory Animal Humane Education at Schools in The Philippines

The Issue

Pets, especially dogs and cats, can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve your cardiovascular health. Caring for an animal can help children grow up more secure and active. Pets also provide valuable companionship for older adults (L. Robinson and J. Segal PhD, 2023).

Pets plays a significant role in our daily lives, they can lighten our mood, make us laugh, and most importantly they love us unconditionally.

Pets can be our stress reliever but we can be the cause of their distress, maybe we unknowingly abuse our pets, some abuse their pets and even stray animals intentionally.

That’s why we created this petition, our petition is about spreading the awareness on how to lessen the animals that are being abused everyday, and also how to disseminate the information about animal welfare that we will get when this mandatory school program petition is signed.

The success of the petition for mandatory animal humane education at schools in the Philippines would herald a positive transformation. This change could lead to a reduction in cruelty, development of responsible citizens, and advocacy for animal welfare. Conversely, if the petition doesn't succeed, it may result in missed opportunities to shape a compassionate society, potentially perpetuating gaps in awareness and ethical practices related to animal welfare.

The objectives of this petition are:

1. Everyone will be able to learn how to deal with animals. Animal welfare will be taught in schools and everyone will be knowledgeable on how to deal with animals properly.

2. Improve the surroundings and living conditions of animals.

3. Fight all forms of animal cruelty. Everyone will be educated on how to fight or prevent animal cruelty and will set a good example by being respectful towards animals.

4. To instill a sense of responsibility in students towards the welfare of animals, teaching them the proper care for pets and other living creatures.

5. To educate students about the consequences of animal cruelty (The laws).

6. To inspire students to become advocates for animal welfare, creating a ripple effect that extends beyond the school environment and into the broader community.

By signing this petition, we express our commitment to protecting animal rights and promoting ethical treatment. Animals deserve to live free from unnecessary suffering and exploitation. It is our collective responsibility to advocate for their well-being, conserve their habitats, and promote a more compassionate society. Let us work together to create a world where animals are treated with respect, dignity, and kindness.
