As a loving owner of two dogs and two cats, I witness firsthand the fear and distress that they have to endure due to fireworks. The loud noises cause many animals a lot of stress and anxiety. Far to often resulting in tragic losses for family's.

I understand that fireworks are a common tradition for celebrations across the world, but the explosion/noise of fireworks is not needed as they can still be admired without it. The noise just brings unnecessary stress to all animals including our beloved pets.

According to a study published by Applied Animal Behaviour Science, 45% of dogs demonstrate signs of fear during fireworks. Hence, it’s not just an issue faced by mine, but countless other pets are also terrorised by the loud bangs every time there’s a display. 

The solution is simple - bring in legislation that requires all fireworks to be silent. We are asking our lawmakers to ban the production and sale of fireworks that make noise. This is a small alteration that can bring a significant change in the lives of millions of pets and their owners.
