My personal experiences have driven me to initiate this petition. I believe that the exposure to indoor vaping has resulted in my child now suffering from asthma. We've encountered multiple instances where our requests for individuals not to vape were utterly ignored, revealing an appalling ignorance of the potential harms. It has become more evident with recent studies that there is growing concern about the risks induced by vaping, particularly for those passively exposed to it. A 2018 study published in Pediatrics found that there was an increased risk of asthmatic symptoms in children exposed to secondhand vapors from e-cigarettes (Pediatrics, 2018). Our plea is simple: making the act of indoor vaping against the explicit request of other parties a legally punishable offence, perhaps even akin to common assault. If vaping has harmful effects and a person chooses to ignore a request not to, this disregard for health and wellbeing of others should have legal consequences. Please, sign this petition to protect indoor air quality, safeguard the health of individuals, notably children, and hold accountable those who willingly, knowingly cause harm with vaping behavior.
