Implement Immediate Safety Enhancements on Lynn Fells Parkway in Melrose

The Issue

On the night of September 4, 2022, residents living on Lynn Fells Parkway by the Linden/Bellevue intersection awoke to a fatal crash scene in front of their homes. For those living in this neighborhood, the carnage has become all too familiar: this was the third severe crash this summer on this stretch of Lynn Fells Parkway. Sign the petition now to demand a safer Lynn Fells Parkway (LFP).

These residents have had enough of living in fear of going outside in their neighborhood, scared for their kids biking and walking to school, and are frustrated and heartbroken at the loss of life. They have written an open letter to the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), which owns and operates LFP, demanding immediate action be taken to slow vehicle traffic speeds and improve safety on the parkway, and especially in this dangerous section. Tell DCR you support a safer LFP today.

We have shared their letter here, and have created this petition to allow other Melrose residents and users of Lynn Fells Parkway to show your support for the neighborhood's pleas for action from DCR. Let this death be the last unnecessary and preventable death on the parkway in Melrose.
