I live in Fort Washington, MD - a beautiful place that is, unfortunately, hindered by constant noise due to high airplane traffic and airflow turbulence. It is intrusive, disrupts our peace, and affects our quality of life. We, the residents, are constantly coping with the noise pollution which doesn't just affect our well-being but also impacts our sleep, concentration, and overall health.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), noise pollution like the one we experience can contribute to cardiovascular diseases, hinder learning in children, and cause sleep disturbances among other health problems. The Environmental Protection Agency also has identified unwanted noise as a dangerous pollutant. Despite this, our homes continue to bear the brunt of it due to insufficient windows that do little to curb the rampant noise.

We are calling on the local government to mandate the installation of high-quality, noise-cancelling windows in all homes of Fort Washington, MD. Such windows, equipped with technology to reduce outside noise, can significantly improve our living conditions - returning to us the peace stolen by excessive noise from the airborne traffic.
