Hate speech has been a grave concern affecting our harmony and social fabric. It has been witnessed time and again that certain factions such as Neo-Nazis, leverage hate speech, symbols, flags, and propaganda to invoke sentiments of division, discrimination, and hostility. It's no secret that these actions can be directly linked to increased violence and social disharmony. For instance, the Federal Bureau of Investigations notes that hate crimes in America rose to a 16-year high in 2018, significantly bolstered by campaigns of delegitimization and dehumanization, prominent in Nazi propaganda and symbolism (FBI, 2018 Annual Hate Crime Statistics). It is therefore critical that we hold those responsible by strengthening our laws to enforce severe consequences for Hate Speech, particularly against Neo-Nazis. To do this, we must urge our lawmakers to make Nazi flags, symbolism, groups, and propaganda illegal. By taking these steps, we can strive toward a more inclusive and tolerant society, truly respecting the values of diversity and unity.
