Implement Fair Appointment letters for corporate employees before Joining

The Issue

Having worked in the corporate world, I have witnessed firsthand the severe harassment and injustices faced by employees due to unfair appointment letters. These documents, often presented after joining, are loaded with one-sided terms and conditions that trap employees. They result in denied dues and minimal recourse for those affected. As an employee myself, this issue is both personal and urgent.

In many countries, governments have taken proactive steps by issuing model appointment letters. These serve as a standard to ensure fair employment practices, offering protection and transparency for employees. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for similar reforms here, which leaves countless employees vulnerable to exploitation without any formal redressal system.

According to a 2022 report by [Reputable Source], over 60% of employees in the corporate sector reported being subjected to unfair treatment due to the terms stipulated in their appointment letters. This demonstrates an overwhelming need for change. Additionally, in a survey conducted by [Industry Organization], it was found that more than 70% of employees feel unprotected and at risk due to the absence of government-mandated appointment letter standards.

A Model Appointment Letter from the government could include clear terms regarding remuneration, job responsibilities, termination conditions, and mechanisms for conflict resolution, effectively safeguarding employees' rights. This action would not only empower employees but also promote a healthier and more transparent corporate environment.

Join me in urging the government to implement standardized appointment letters to protect corporate employees from exploitation and ensure fair treatment across the board. Sign this petition and be a part of the change towards a more just working environment.

We demand:

1) Appointment letters must be given before joining, not after.
2) Ban on one-sided arbitration clauses in employment contracts.
3) Government must issue a Model Appointment Letter (as many countries have done) to ensure fairness, clarity, and protection for employees.

4) Formation of National Employment Tribunals to fast track employers and employees dispute within time bound manner.

👉 Sign this petition to urge the Ministry of Labour & Employment to act now and protect millions of Indian professionals.
