Yesterday I received an email from the Standing Committee on Petitions (a House of Representatives Department).

Last week there was a server outage that affected their e-petition site. One of the consequences of this was that people were unable to sign any of the e-petitions from Friday to Sunday. The problem has since been fixed. As compensation for the open petitions affected, all of them (including ours) will receive an extra two days in which to receive signatures.

Therefore, our new deadline will be 3/10/2025 at 11:59pm.

Apart from that, we are currently sitting on 64 signatures here on change.org but only 11 for the federal parliament version. That's at least another 53 valuable signatures that could be added. So please, take the time to sign the petition either today or over the weekend. It only takes a few minutes of your time.

As a heads up for federal e-petitions, you'll need to provide your email when you go to sign it. Once you click "Add My Signature" you will shortly receive a confirmation email. Your signature will only be added if you open the confirmation link. All going well, the link should direct you to a page on the parliament website with a success confirmation.
