Hi all,

You may remember talk of a petition to the House of Representatives in an earlier update. Well, I have just been notified that the Standing Committee on Petitions has approved it. It is now open for signatures and will close on the 1st of October 2025. Anyone who is an Australian citizen or resident can sign this (hopefully that includes all of you). Here is the link: https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN7761 The reference code for this petition is EN7761 and the title is "Citizen-initiated referenda". Please sign and share when get the time. This is an important opportunity to advance our cause.

In other news, the CIR petition to the Queensland Parliament closed at midnight on the 24th of August. From memory, it received 956 signatures including my own. At some point it will receive a response from the relevant state minister. In this case, I believe that the response will come from the Honourable Ann Leah MP, Minister for Local Government and Water. In the meantime, feel free to contact her urging her to grant the petitioners' request. I'll update you after I have received her response.

Apart from that, we have hit 44 signatures on this petition. This is in part thanks to the Sustainable Australia Party's support. At some point, one of you chipped in $10 which gave us an extra 63 promotion views (thanks for that).

Today I sent an email to the Libertarian Party of Queensland regarding a couple of matters, including our petition. I am hoping that we will receive support from them this time around. I made sure to ask them share our petition with the other state/territory branches of the party. If they spread the word, we should hopefully see another surge in signatures.

Keep supporting our mission where possible.

Thanks and regards,

Noah
