Growing up, homework and school uniforms have always felt burdensome and restricting. Like many others, I believe it's time for schools to seriously rethink these outdated policies. When I, or any student, spend countless hours after school struggling to complete endless assignments, it becomes overwhelming. This not only encroaches upon personal time needed for rest and recreation but also can lead to increased stress and burnout. Reducing the amount of homework will allow students to focus on their well-being and foster a healthier balance between academic obligations and personal time.

Moreover, school uniforms often create unnecessary financial strain on families. Having a fixed dress code leaves little room for self-expression among students, stifling their individuality and creativity. Allowing kids to wear their own clothes, as long as it is not revealing or inappropriate, could reduce costs for parents and empower students to express themselves in a way that is both comfortable and personal.

Incorporating these changes can contribute to a more supportive and encouraging educational environment. It’s time for educational institutions to prioritize the mental health and personal development of their students by reducing homework and abolishing strict uniform policies.
