New Jersey residents, especially those dependent on public transportation, are facing mobility limitations due to the current end point of Bus Route 30 at Absecon Train Station. This petition calls for New Jersey Transit to extend the service of Bus Route 30 beyond this station.

The lack of a continued route beyond Absecon Train Station greatly limits the opportunities and safety of individuals who rely on this service for work, education, and other essential activities. Despite the increased need for inclusive mobility in today's society, the absence of this extended route means that many people, including the elderly, students, and low-income families, are left disadvantaged and endangered. There has been 3 people struck by cars in the last six months and many more near catastrophes have occurred when people are trying to access local stores.

It has been proven that efficient and far-reaching public transport systems can drastically improve the quality of life and accessibility for communities; this rings true particularly for states with high population densities such as New Jersey (New Jersey Department of Transportation, 2020).

By adding a bus that continues on Route 30 past the Absecon Train Station, not only will New Jersey Transit be improving the convenience for current riders, but they will also likely see an increase in rider numbers and consequent revenue, fostering community growth and economic stability.

We request that New Jersey Transit acknowledge this issue and take necessary measures to extend the service of Bus Route 30.
