Implement an audit of ISN psychology program for fairness, transparency & student welfare
The issue
In the journey at ISN Psychology's Master of Clinical Psychology program (www.isn.edu.au several students encountered numerous issues, including limited client placement opportunities and severe miscommunication issues. In some instances, students received no feedback on emails or updates on the key issues they were concerning. Other students faced unfair allegations with some accusation that is far from their factual performance. The lack of proper resources further compounded the difficulties, and intensely impacted students' mental health wellbeing.
Several other alumni of ISN Psychology echo the students' concerns. We consider ISN to be unresponsive in its communication, insufficiently supportive and non-transparent in its external assessment. It is unacceptable that the failure of ISN's teaching system is putting at risk the qualifications and overall well-being of our future practitioners.
Fair, transparent, and properly supervised placements should be a given, not an exception, in any tertiary educational providers. We therefore demand an immediate investigation into ISN's qualifications and behaviour. We insist on reforms to ensure proper accountability, direct communication, rational resource allocation and fair assessment. And we demand the involvement of upper-level regulatory agencies such as APAC and TEQSA.
There is reason to believe that students in other programs may have experienced similar injustices. Please share your stories, and sign this petition if you believe in standing for these fundamental rights. Together, we can transform ISN's Clinical Psychology (or other) Program and ensure it truly serves its students. Let your signature echo our call for action!
