There are approximately 3 million Sri Lankans living overseas (Migration and Development Brief, World Bank), which is about 14% of the total population of Sri Lanka and 1/3 of eligible voters. This sizable group should not be left voiceless simply because they reside outside their homeland.

50 countries around the world have implemented voting systems for their citizens living abroad.i.e. India, Pakistan, Phillippines, Australia, UK, USA etc..   It's time for Sri Lanka to follow suit and ensure that all its citizens can participate in shaping its future, regardless of where they live.
