I’m closing the petition — thank you all again for your support! After hearing the most recent Council meeting and knowing the delays set forth by the school district, this is going to be months if not a year before an SRO position is filled (there is not a dedicated budget line from the City for funding and as the police chief spoke, the hiring process also takes time). I am encouraging you all to write to your elected officials, publicly speak at meetings and advocate whenever possible. And, of course, VOTE for those elected officials who support and align with your beliefs and values.
